Summer Infatuations

These days I am really channeling the spirit of all things Summer - loose linen clothing, dips in the ocean, bike rides, sweet berries, the smell of flowers, and the ease that naturally comes with hot weather.

Just returned back from three blissful weeks spent at Ocelot Cottage in Amagansett. Our time out east was FULL - from family to design work, to the difficult task of actually relaxing (if you know me, you know).

First and foremost - I was able to visit our INCREDIBLE gym project - Posthouse - in Sag Harbor which opened. It was incredible to finally see in action as well as to take a few classes with the head trainer, Walter Savage. I HIGHLY recommend the class. It's a great (dare I say fun) workout, the music is killer, and the ambience is spot on.

Socially - so busy. Tons of family time - loved getting to spend time with everyone and entertain at ours. Always a pleasure to see our East Coast friends and get a taste of their spicier energy and no-filter conversations.

Finally, I achieved my goal of getting the house ready for the Noah Webb photoshoot we're doing in September (despite the fact that a designer's house is never done). Tons of thrifting and antiquing to get those magical touches and moments. Very pleased and can't wait to share with you the photos.

Now for some oh-so-exciting 22 updates...

MAGAZINE LAUNCH: THE TWENTY TWO

People are ALWAYS asking me about which paint colors to choose, paint finishes to use, and what my general favorites are. So, I put together an actual magazine - in both digital and print formats - that lays it all out. For a REAL hold-it-in-your-hand copy, drop me a line via email. For the digital-loving peeps, please click below. Would love your feedback on this! Should I do more? A series? Hmm...thinking a lighting guide, investment guide, all about upholstery....

REYN SPOONER PASADENA HEADQUARTERS

So much aloha for the Hawaiian shirt company Reyn Spooner and their team who worked with us to help design their ideal mixed-use space (office, creative, pop-up, and event) in Pasadena. The new headquarters is located in the gorgeous historic Chamber of Commerce building in Old Pasadena. The ceilings are massive and the windows original to the building - 1904. The design process involved bringing to life the exterior of a traditional Hawaiian home and lanai - INSIDE their main space. We also took their most iconic shirt fabric - Lahaina Sailer - and made it into a wallpaper onto which we framed historic images and documents that tell the story of the iconic company. Going through the archives was such a treat - my favorite find was a 1970s ad featuring five men in patterned onesies hanging out by the rocks next to the ocean. Stay tuned for more on Reyn Spooner - we're helping them with some of their stores, updates on that hopefully coming later in the year!

And summer continues...we have TWO Malibu installs, which means photoshoots and reveals coming soon. I can hardly wait.

More projects happening now on the East Coast; I'll be out there pretty much monthly from here on.

That is all for now, and as always, thank you for reading!
